My mouth waters just thinking about "Andy's". I just wish that we lived closer so that we could be there more often! We've been up and down the menu, and in our opinion Andy's has the best Chinese food in San Fran when we line up the excellent quality of food with such friendliness of service, the low prices, huge menu variety, and relatively quick time to bring us our freshly prepared food. If you're looking for some special ambience, that's not at Andy's, but you'll find all of the above, which is great for dining in or take-out. They honor reservations and take credit cards or cash.

Do not order from this place ever again...I ordered $27 worth of food and did not receive my full order. I called them back immediately after the driver left and was told that I would receive a callback. I was called back and was basically told I was lying and that the order was "packed by an older driver" and that "there was no mistake made." All over $4.70 that they didn't want to refund.

AWESOME GARLIC NOODLES....Incredible tasting ! I'd go across town just for these..oh wait, they have home delivery! SCORE!When I saw an award posted on their store front that stated, "Best Chow Mien in the City", there was no hesitation. I know what I'm ordering.Yep. The CHOW-MIEN dishes are some of the best in the City with the GARLIC NOODLES being the best unique tasting chow mien ever.Down one star for the solemn bleak atmosphere, although the wait-staff is friendly and helpful which sort of makes up for it. Go there for the chow mien...garlic noodles, and you'll be very happy. .

I love getting Chinese delivery from this place using Grub Hub!My favorites so far are definitely the Seafood Chow Fun (make it spicy!) and the Hot and Sour Soup! Both dishes are great. It usually takes about 45 min to an hour for the delivery, but if you're lazy like me on a Sunday, that's not a problem!Their menu is filled with a variety of popular Chinese dishes and their prices are not bad as well!If all else fails, Andy's for delivery please!

Andy's is my go to Chinese delivery spot, with consistently excellent prawns and walnuts, Kung pao chicken, and Szechuan beans topping my favorites the. When you actually eat at the stair ant it is clear why they are known for their takeout, the interior is nothing to write home about and stands in contrasts to the rest of the surrounding restaurants on Polk Street. However, the food is always delicious and Andy's will remain my o to Chinese food spot on Polk Street.

Got delivery from this place last night. Really good portions for a good price. I got the shredded pork in szechwan sauce with rice and avocado rolls. Very good as it didn't taste cheap with all that MSG or whatever. The avocado rolls were a little different as it was like a spring roll with sweet guacamole inside. As far as the service goes, I would give them 5 stars. My order arrived really fast and the food was still very hot when I got it which was excellent!

My first time order for delivery and it apparently turned out being really awful.I ordered hot garlic sauce chicken wigns (hot) and Chinese spanich and they were totally not what I expected! The chicken wings are just greasy and not spicy at all. I thought I ordered something like soy sauce salty chicken wings or something.Spinach is just spinach. nothing special. I mean "no taste at all" -_-These are fine as long as I finished them all cuz I was really starving. The worst thing happened when I got the delivery order. The young delivery guy just took my money and left without saying a word.Am I stupid to get the change back? The change that I was supposed to get was almost a half of the food price that I ordered. You wouldn't need to be like that cuz I was about to give you enough tip anyway. It's not important I know but this is not right..One more thing! No chopsticks, napkins,etc.. nothing was included in packet.I ordered food because I just moved to a new place and had literally nothing in my house. But thanx! I ran to a market to buy chopsticks.I'm not a big fan of writing comments or something like that but I feel like I have to do this.

After a volunteer session at one of the local schools, I met up with my friend for a little early lunch and a little shopping. We got to Andy's about 10 minutes after they opened and had to wait about 10 minutes for the tea to be served, but we did order the lunch specials. I had the Mongolian lamb which was excellent, with plenty of meat and well prepared. My friend had the Kung Pao and both were decidedly well done. For the price (about $7.50 each with tip) this was an excellent lunch at a very reasonable price. The lunches come with an egg roll, steamed rice (fried rice or chow mein $1.50 extra) and some orange slices and hot tea and fortune cookies. A good deal for a casual, come as you are eatery. The place is clean and comfortable. I will definitely eat lunch there again if I'm in the area, although there are a lot of restaurants in the area I would like to try as well. However for lunch, this is a good deal. The service was polite, friendly and prompt. Thumbs up for lunch.

I just ordered from them less than a hour ago and it arrived in about 30 minutes (I live in outer sunset).I ordered BBQ spare ribs and the egg rolls. The two items came down to about 12 dollars + tax + free delivery. The portion sizes are very good for the price and I didn't even have to leave the house to get it! I usually don't get take out unless I'm desperate but I will order from them again for sure next time when I get night time hunger pains. The ribs were meaty and drenched in sauce (4 ribs). The egg rolls (3) are different from your standard Chinese place. It's very sweet because it's filled with green beans and it contrast with the taste of the sweet n sour sauce (they should reformulate and add bean sprouts instead of sweet green beans). The driver/delivery man was really sweet and did a curtsy (I thought that was hilarious). The food was still hot and fresh when it arrived.-1 star because the lady that picked up the phone was a sorta rude. She had like 3 other callers on and trying to take orders for all of us. She also hung up on me .01 second after I finished my sentence. I wanted to ask how long it would take to get my order but nope, she hung up. I guess they're busy around 9 - 10 pm.Bahhhhh I'm so full :)

Andy's is a lifesaver for vegetarians and also has great meat dishes.Delivery:For a long time, I'd only eaten Andy's food via delivery. They were always on time (consistently arrived between 25 and 40 minutes wherever I was in San Francisco) and kind on the phone and at the door. I've ordered vegetarian fried rice, chow fun, and various eggplant and green bean dishes multiple times for delivery. They've always been very flavorful and reasonably priced. Whenever we ordered from them, I was experiencing extreme hunger and Chinese food cravings, and their precious cargo always did the job! It also doesn't leave you tired and MSG-hungover like other Chinese places (even if you gorge yourself on the food like I usually do). I can tell Andy's uses high quality ingredients, and I've always gotten a balanced meal for a great price from them, whether it's delivered or at the restaurant. The Restaurant:After ordering delivery about six times, my friends and I finally had time to go to the restaurant on 9th. This was the first time I tried one of their meet dishes, too. At first, I was a bit worried because the restaurant was completely empty. I always get a little nervous when I don't see other people eating there, but I had no need to fear. The waitress was very sweet, and I could hear the hostess take order after order of take out meals, which confirmed that it definitely had a good reputation. We had the restaurant to ourselves, the food came out quickly, and our water and tea cups were always full! I finally tried their chicken chow fun, soup (hot and sour and seaweed), cashew chicken, and broccoli beef. All of it was great, and I ate my usual amount (which is a LOT) and felt completely satisfied.Andy's on 9th: the delivery is prompt, and the restaurant is cozy. The food's GREAT either way. I have been to the restaurant with a large group of friends as well as on a date. You can have great conversation because it's not packed, great food, and please both your vegetarian and carnivorous friends for a reasonable price.

Worst Chinese food I've eaten in San Francisco, HANDS DOWN. I avoided this place for a year although it's incredibly close. My friend was like we HAVE to go, they have CHICKEN dan dan mein. Have you had chicken dandan mein before? No...(Inside I was thinking...but do I really want to?)Anyway, off we go. We ALMOST went to the all-you-can-eat Indian restaurant next door...but that was more expensive and we were both hoping for Free lunch special Chinese soup---We were crossing our fingers for Hot and Sour.Anyway, long story short, we end up here. The lunch soup was Egg Drop, Generally I like egg drop soup, although this particular one was REALLY bland. I put in a LOT of spice an pepper, and I barely finished. Together we ordered some shrimp dish, the chicken dan dan mein, and eggplant.OMG the EGGPLANT was so bad we didn't finish and NEITHER of us took it to go. I mean, I will take 1 dumpling to go...free bread to go....pho broth to go..but alas....The chicken dan dan mein was just NOT good. It had this weird sweet taste, that would only go away if you DRENCHED it in saracha sauce, but then what was the point of getting dan dan mein? The peanut sauce was way overwhelming. I wish I was at ZnY. The Shrimp was fried and altogether alright.I was NOT impressed, very UNhappy, and I wish I had went to the Indian place, or Golden Rice Bowl, or any of the other cheap chinese restaurants in the area!

I wanted to try out the new Living Social online ordering system, and decided to get some take out from Andy's Chinese Cuisine. The estimate was 25 minutes, for my food to be ready. I showed up a few minutes early and the food was already nicely packaged and ready for pick-up.The staff was very friendly and I really appreciated the fact that they double-boxed the food and double-bagged as well (as Chinese food tends to be greasy/saucy and can become a mess really quickly if incorrectly packaged). My boyfriend and I ordered:-Tomato beef noodles ($5.75): This was much larger than I was expecting. Noodles, with chunks of tomato, bell peppers and beef. It was not overly saucy or spiced, but it was still flavorful.-Potstickers ($4.50): 8 pieces; thèse don't really taste like any other pot stickers I've had before, but I still liked them. They were wrapped with thin wraps and the filling tasted like it had cilantro in it. The edges were nice and crisp and the dipping sauce was a little bit sweet too.-Fortune cookies (free!): they use the panda-brand pre-packaged fortune cookies. These don't have the best flavor, but I'm not picky.Overall, the food was fairly tasty and the pricing is very fair (it can't really get any cheaper). I wouldn't say it's "authentic," but who really cares- it still tastes pretty good. The portion sizes are extremely generous and this was way more than enough food for my boyfriend and I- we even had leftovers. So while it's not the best, it works and I may order take out or delivery again sometime. (Delivery minimum is only $10.) I liked that they included a take-out/delivery menu in the bag.

It's really funny that someone mentioned that you'd be better off going to Panda Express instead of here. Two days ago, I was craving Panda but my friend who is visiting wanted authentic Chinese food and after walking around the area, dragged me to Andy's.The Hot & Sour soup came with our lunch specials and I didn't even try it. I could tell by the smell and look of it that it was not something I could force myself to eat since I swear by another place with fantastic Hot & Sour. Then came our lunch plates. Huge plates with rice, orange slices and egg role. I got the Pineapple Beef and my friend got spicy eggplant. Her eggplant was pretty good, but the sauce on my beef looked like hair gel. I tasted a pineapple since it seemed like a safe thing to try and it didn't taste much like anything. The beef itself was a faint brown color and I didn't even try it due to how bad it looked. The egg roll was nothing special. We also got chow mein and it was also pretty nasty. The people next to us ordered seconds!!!!I got everything to go and after leaving put the bag on some curb so some poor starving soul could at least eat something since I haven't touched it at all.Needless to say I'm mad I wasted the money and didn't get my Panda. Never going here again.
